USB Image Tool 1.61
New version 1.61 fixes a bug, that caused an access violation at the end of a backup to zip-compressed images. It also adds the option to use user-defined date/time formats for the file name suggestion. At the end of an restore operation, a rescan of all devices is now performed automatically.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you restore the backed up image to a different location as in a new flash drive? Thanks.
April 18th, 2013 at 6:06 pm
@Paddaricko: What do you mean by “different location”?

What I mean is, I took an image of my flash drive using the tool, and stored it on my computer. That flash drive has now bitten the dust. I was the wanting to restore the image of that now defunct flash drive to a new one I have have bought.

Then just insert the new flash drive with a size larger or identical to the original one, press the restore button and select the image file.

I used your tool to back up my flash. There is an option to create a md5 check sum file. Now, I want to restore my flash. How can use this check sum file for restoring my flash? Where in the check box I specify it? I am using version 1.64
Thanks
January 31st, 2015 at 12:03 pm
@Mike: The md5 is intended for distributing the image (f.e. as download). Verifying the restored image currently is only possible with the command line tool.
