USB Image Tool 1.40 released
The new version comes with completely replaced compression routines, that additionally provide gzip support (intended for large images). Also the device mode doesn’t require unplugging and resetting the device anymore. Major parts of the I/O code have been redesigned to be prepared for future development. You can find the new version on the download page.
If you want to give feedback, please note, that I will be on holiday for 2 weeks, starting from Tuesday, so I eventually won’t be able to check my mail and approve comments everyday.

I am getting the following error message every time I open usbimagetool.exe (ver. 1.40) on my XP SP3 system:
“Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”
After I click “OK”, on the error pop-up, USBImageTool opens, but I am unsure if any functionality has been compromised by the error.

I have been able to recreate this error. It’s just the error message, that the settings couldn’t be read from the registry. This happens, when there have been no settings saved in the registry before. I will fix it with the next update, but it won’t compromise the functionality of the current version.

I was about to comment about the same error prompt.
I will wait for the next version. Thanks.

I forgot to suggest that you should make your application save its window position, or at least show it centered on the screen.

Fixed the error message bug. I will keep the window position issue in mind for the next version.
