What about linux WINE ?

Post by boezer_onkel »

It starts its shell and runs under Linux WINE so far - but does not detect any USB-Device.
(even not these been mounted in FSTAB)

I think, there's no other tool been able to truncate a oversized bootable IMG-files onto a SD-Card.
(Most flashcards have a little different size of storage. Mostly just only a few kbyte.
But this makes UNetBootin to disable any recovery)

So I want to use AlexTool further on - after kicking all Microsh**-Operatingsystems to their Junkyard.

So, folks - How to run it under PlayOnLinux/WINE?
Any virtual dlls missing?

I did install .net 4.0 - and it runs under WINE.
My system is Mint 17.1 - PlayOnLinux 4.2.10

Got ImageTool's shell to work under WINE - but no USB-devices to select...

Plzzzz... help me.

Did you activate the debug output? What's the protocol output? I'm working with several Windows API functions. Maybe not all are supported by WINE. Debug output might be a hint, what's missing.

Graphic shell runs.
But no selectable icon of USB-Device in left window.

Output is:

Properly installed .net 4.0 before this test.
Full access to all (!) USB-Devices from WINE - expcept by ya tool...

Inofficial comment:

Weil alles andere, was "...man so täglich braucht..." schon längst unter Linux läuft.

My Very Best Of" - Ghislers TotalCommander.

Irgendeine idee...?

What I meant is the debug output, I implemented in USB Image Tool with version 1.71. That would allow me to see, what Windows API function might not be working in the WINE environment. It should look like:

FD01: \\?\scsi#disk&ven_samsung&prod_ssd_830_series#4&4dda929&0&000000#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}
FD02: SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series
FD04: Device ID is SCSI\DISK&VEN_SAMSUNG&PROD_SSD_830_SERIES\4&4DDA929&0&000000
FD05: Media Type is 12
FD06: Location PCI-Bus 0, Gerät 31, Funktion 2
FD07: Hardware ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E02&SUBSYS_B0051458&REV_04

Off topic:

Got a very special "Debug-Output".
Content: - Empty. Nada. Niente. Nix.-

Nothing to see on the program's right window, nothing in keyboards buffer, no logfile.
"Rescan"-Button keeps being highlighted after klick - but not any reaction at all.

@all
Anyone out there with running version of Alex' tool under WINE...?
Please share list of installed WINE environment's components.

btw.
Linux is future - Microsoft is NSA.

@Alex

Kein Java, kein C+ Frontend.
