selected drive gets unselected with win8.1-64bit

after using usb image tool under win xp without any problems, i had to move to win 8.1-64bit.
now, i cannot use usb image tool anymore.
starting usb image tool works, but when selecting a device, the device gets automatically unselected after 1-3 seconds. i.e. after entering a backup file name, the tool reports "no usb device selected".
i tried compatibility modes, different flash reader,... no help ;-(
what am i doing wrong?
how can i get device selection persistent?

Seems like something is stealing the program focus from the device selection. This intentionally only appears, when a new USB device is plugged in. I will try to recreate & fix the issue. I haven't seen this until now, yet I have tested it only upto Windows 8. If you need to use the tool, you can give the command line version a try.

Can you, when possible, provide some further information? Does the selection disappear only, when you click the backup button? Or does it also appear, when you open the program, select a device and then wait some seconds without doing anything else in the program? Is there anything on your computer, that could windows make detect a new device?

@sofiazoe: Generally USB Image Tool works with Win 8.1 64bit. The problem above was a driver problem, causing the system to periodically scan for USB devices. This resulted in getting the current drive unmarked, which was fixed with version 1.63. If you have another problem, I need more information.

Are you reporting an issue with Win 8.1 or is this just a ironic quote? For an error report, I would need more information. I tested it successfully on a Windows 8.1 machine.
