Image too large, additional question(s).

Image too large to fit on device. I read the FAQ but just wanted to add... I am using a box of brand new, identical flash drives of 2GB in size. No matter which one, or which brand, I have tried, the others all say the image is too large to fit even when it is less that 10% of the capacity. Will the program format the drive and then copy only the data? Is there anything I am missing in the options other than truncate? Thanks to Alex, this is a great program!

The only thing, that matters for this check is, that the physical size of the device (shown in the info window in the upper half) is larger or equal to the image size (uncompressed for imz/gz). Flash drives must not be identical, even it's the same model from the same manufacturer. They can differ in size, depending on what flash chips have been used. Flash drives from the same lot number probably will be identical in size, at least I have 3 Sandisks identical in size. I bought them together from the same batch.

I have Transcend 4 GB drive that the USB Image Tool reports as 3,996,483,584. I have made an image of that drive and tried to copy it to Transcend 4 GB drive that the USB Image Tool reports as 4,023,418,880. I get the message "The image file is too large for the selected USB drive" This is in Device mode.
I don't get the message if I use compressed image file and set Ignore Size Checks in Options tab so that might be a solution for people having this issue.
