Feature Request: Support of SATA/PCMCIA CF-Card readers

Post by bastianschmitz » Fri Dec 07, 2012 2:31 pm

Hey, thanks for the wonderful tool. I'd like to see support for non-removable/non-USB devices in it. I have a SATA-CF-Reader and USB Image Tool does not detect it as a device. I'm, unsure if this is by design (USB Image Tool is limited to USB devices only?) or if this device is just not shown by USB Image Tool. In the latter case I'd like to be able to select these kind of card readers to backup and restore image files.

The advantage of this SATA- or PCMCIA-readers is that the devices show up as non-removable disks and that multiple partitions can be accessed.

Currently only removable devices are shown. Future versions might be extended to non-removeable-devices, including USB hard drives and flash card readers.
