Impossible to mount img file

Dear Sirs,
I created an image file (.img) of my USB pen with USB Image Tool. I am trying to mount it (in win7) in order to view its contents, but it seems impossible to do it.

I tried with:
- WinCDEmu: error message "locked file when saving or recovery"
- VirtualCloneDrive: impossible to access the disk, it could be damaged
- OFSMount: it is necessary to format disk, impossible to access disk
- renaming file extension in .zip: impossible to open file with 7zip

Dimension of img file is correct (4 GB as my pen), but it is impossible to access its contents.

Thanks a lot for helping

Some more information is necessary:

- volume mode or device mode?
- what file system?

I am having similar issue as the original poster, read through FAQ and the previous reply but I still cannot find an answer.

As the OP indicated, the problem is after the img file was mounted using OSFMount as removable drive, it will show up as a drive in Windows XP, however, when I click the drive, it will ask if I want to format it instead of showing it's content.

I purchased this USB drive with a specialty SW pre-loaded, I want to back it up as I am afraid of the USB drive being damaged by static electricity.

Any help would be much appreciated, either to create a backup image or an identical USB drive.

Thanks in advance

Same question here: Did you use the device mode? Is the software on this flash drive stored on an emulated CD-ROM?
