USB Image Tool v1.71 create wrong imz files:
(1) 7-zip shows that inner img file has zero size
(2) size of imz file is doubled relative to v1.70

Thanks for reporting. I fixed this with version 1.72. Seems that the minzip routines from new zlib 1.2.8 i used for creating the imz image are not working correctly.
