Hi,
I have an USB stick with VID090C & PID 1000 which is recognized as a normal device under Windows XP and mounted as a drive, however, the Image Tool does not show it.
Would be glad if you could help.
Many thanks and kind regards,
Jens

If it's detected as a hard drive, it won't show up in USB Image Tool. You should be able to tell by the icon used in the explorer. If it's the same as your other hard drives, it won't show.
Another reason might be, that it's not formatted or formatted in an unknown file system. You have to use the device mode to make these drives appear.
Yes, it is detected as a hard drive. In the device mode it does not show up either. It is formatted as FAT. What do you recommend? Thanks.
For now you have to use another tool, as USB Image Tool only supports flash drives.
I've got a pICO eee 2GB Stick. Is there a way to make Windows detect it as an USB-Drive instead of an HDD? I tried formatting it from FAT32 to FAT, but that didn't help.
Just formatting won't do it. I think I read somewhere in the internet, that it's possible to change that by some registry hacking, but I don't exactly know how. It's usually defined by the vendor, how a flash drive will be detected.
Thank you for the reply. Atleast I can backup and restore it with WinImage using the vhd method.
