The Samsung Galaxy Tab has several improvements over other tablet pc. One chief benefit of this is the capability to display flash animation from websites. When flash is allowable, web browsing are open and extreme more complete. This benefit is just one of several, however. This frivolous and great tablet created a buzz in the market and its a lot of features are not only imposing, they are sensible as well.

Hi:

I saved an image fron a KINGSTON DTIG3/2GBZ datatraveler pen drive. Later I tried to restore this image to a SANDISK CRUZER BLADE SDCZ50-002G-P95 pendrive, as both are 2 GB large. I got an error mesage "The image file is too large for the selected USB device!".
The KINGSTON shows device size as 2.003.795.968 Bytes and SANDISK 2.000.682.496 Bytes. Why this happens, since are both 2 GB large? I think a 2 GB stick would be 2.097.452.000 Bytes large; at SANDISK case I can read that "some capacity not available for data storage" but I consider the difference of 3.113.472 bytes is great.
Is there something I can do to fit this image in SANDISK stick, or any other solution?

Hi Alex,

First up, I was very excited to find you application. At work, on a regular basis we recieve data from customers on USB thumb drives, the data from each customer is different, and changes each week. We need a way to copy the entire contents of the USB drives to a Hard disk for long term storage. Your tool suits us very well as we can image the USB drives, and save them directly to an external hard disk. Your tool also lets us do multile USB drives in parallel, which is great.

I note on your instructions, that you reccommend winImage for viewing the contents of IMG files created using your tool. I have installed winimage, and can sucessfuly view the contents of the IMG files. This is good, but in order to work with any of the files I need to extract them, which doubles the space required, and increases the time taken to work with the files.

I have seen several tools which can mount a disk image file as a virtual drive under windows. I have installed two tools WinCDemu http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/ and OSFMount http://www.osforensics.com/tools/mount-disk-images.html which are supposed to be able to mount IMG files. I have tested these tools with other image types, like ISO and they seem to work fine, but when I try and open an image crated with your tool, they fail with numeric error codes, which don't seem to have a meaning with them.

Can you point me to a Windows tool which can be used to mount the IMG files of USB? The two i've tried don't work, although they claim to monut IMG files.

Thank you for your help

Cheers

Hallo,

Gruss,
Thomas

Hi every one, there is a problem with Nokia phones, once you instal the applications to your memory card you cant buckup them if you want to do a software upgrad, nokia pc suit or ovi suit can't do that, and you will lose them and you have to reinstal them after that, also if you want to change the memory crad and you want to go for one with biger capacity, like going from 1 giga to 8 giga, you have to reinstal all the applications and programs that were instaled on the old memory card, so the question is:
if i can back up all files (like system files and folders, and privat files and folders) with usb image tool, will i be able to restore them to an other memory card with higher capacity ??
thank you

Alex,

I just want to thank you for your hard work on this tool. It is simply awesome and I trust that it will bring you good fortune.

I have found a few solutions that has helped me to master the bootable usb device with your software.

1. This is a biggie, UAC (user account controls) must be turned off in order to image a usb device in device mode. It will give the code 32 error mentioned earlier if UAC is turned on. It will also greyout the option to change from volume mode (if UAC is turned on).

2. Freeware tools I have used successfully (can be googled to locate)

    * MultibootISOS - Create a multiboot live usb drive to image
* EASEUS Partition master Home - For all partiition resizing/deleting/creating needs
* WinSetupFromUSB-1 0-beta 6 - Add xp and windows 7 cd bootable option (if you
do this one first, you can then use multibootisos to add linx distros)
* WinContig - defrag iso images to be used in multibootisos program if you get a
contingency error when trying to boot)
* ImageMagick-6.6.6-1 - Edit the grub boot loader splash image (not easy, google
for an easy to follow document on how to do this)
* CutFile - Version on softpedia, I used your suggestion to first create a
partition size a bit smaller (about 80MB) before imaging and then cutting the
unallocated partition space with this tool. This has allowed me to distribute
images to different devices and accounts for the variations in usb device sizes.
This was the only tool i tried that did not corrupt the image file after the cut.

Again, thank you for producing a wonderful program. I will surely donate after the holidays when I am able.

Damien

Hi,
My name is Ben and I am a final year maths and computing student.
For my dissertation I am creating a utility to forensically analyise satnav systems.
I have been looking for a usb imager, and am very impressed with yours!
Was wondering if I could have a copy of the code you used? You will be credited in my work!
Many thanks,

Regards,

I've been looking for software that'll image a single 512MB jump drive and write that image to 400 identical drives that I have in a box. I'm running Windows 7 and have hubs in place where I can connect 16 of the drives at one time. I've used your software to create the image and successfully write it to another. Works perfectly! What I need to do now is have it loop through all of the connected drives without me needing to enter the device number in separate commands.

Is this possible?

Any help is most definitely appreciated!

"Code 32 - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."
